Northwest took home a 6-2 victory over Fairless on Monday. Fairless scored first, getting their offense going in the 2nd when Ryleigh Brady hit a solo homer. But the Indians pulled ahead for good with two runs in the third inning. Maddie Kurz doubled scoring one run and Olivia Francis singled to bring home a second. The girls put up four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Ella Lyons, Anna Welsh, and Francis, who all drove in runs. Jensen Miller pitched the Indians to victory. She went all seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out five and walking zero. Kara Maher started the game for Fairless. She went seven innings, allowing 13 hits and six runs while striking out four and walking one. Northwest tallied 13 hits. Welsh, Jessica Smith, Francis, and Alayna Jones all managed multiple hits. Welsh led Northwest Indians Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
